Delivery
Where we send parcels, what it costs, how long it takes, and what to do when something goes wrong on the way.
Where we deliver
All over West Bengal. Berhampore and the towns around it we often deliver by hand.
Outside West Bengal we deliver on request. Message us with what you want and your pin code before you order, and we will tell you whether a courier goes there, what it will cost and how long it will take. Some pin codes no courier serves, and it is better to know that before you pay.
What delivery costs
The charge is per order, not per item, and it is the same whether the parcel is one packet or five. For a heavy or an out-of-state order we will tell you the actual courier cost before we confirm it, rather than quietly adding it afterwards.
How long it takes
The clock starts when the order is confirmed, not when it is placed. A UPI payment is confirmed by a person here checking it against the bank, so an order paid at night is usually confirmed the next morning.
Working days mean our working days: Sundays and holidays do not count. Anything out of stock waits until it comes in, and we tell you rather than splitting the order without asking.
The courier and your tracking number
We book parcels with India Post, DTDC, Delhivery, Trackon, Blue Dart and The Professional Couriers, and we choose whichever reaches your address best. You do not pick the courier.
When the parcel goes out we put the courier's name and the consignment number on your order, and email them to you with a tracking link. You can see the same thing any time on the order page in your account.
Two honest limits:
- We have no connection to any courier's systems. What we hold is the consignment number written on the receipt we were handed at the counter. The tracking link takes you to the courier's own page; the status there is theirs, not ours.
- Some couriers — India Post is one — have no per-parcel link. Then the link opens their tracking page and you type the number in yourself.
A hand delivery in and around Berhampore has no consignment number and no tracking link, because there is nothing to track. We simply bring it, and you can call us to ask where it is.
If a parcel is late
First look at the tracking link on your order. A parcel sitting at a courier's branch usually shows there. If it has not moved for two days, or it is past the delivery date we gave you, message us on WhatsApp with your order number and we will chase the courier from our side — we booked it, so they will talk to us.
Please keep your phone reachable. Nearly every failed delivery we see is a courier who could not get through on the number given.
If a parcel arrives damaged
Look at the parcel before you take it. If it is crushed, torn, wet or open, refuse it — it then goes straight back to us and we send a fresh one. That is the cleanest outcome for both of us.
If you have already accepted it, photograph the outside before you open it, then photograph what is inside, and send both to us on WhatsApp with your order number the same day. Those photographs are what we show the courier when we claim, and without them a claim goes nowhere. The rest is on the returns page.
What we are not responsible for
- A delay by the courier once the parcel has left us — a strike, a flood, a festival rush, a lost consignment at their end. We will chase it and we will replace or refund a parcel that is truly lost, but the delay itself is not something we control.
- An address typed wrongly. Check the address and the pin code before you place the order. Once the parcel is booked, an address cannot be changed, and a parcel that comes back to us for a wrong address is re-sent at your cost.
- Nobody at the address. Most couriers try twice and then return the parcel.
Ask us before you order
If the delivery matters — a date you must have it by, a pin code you are unsure of, a load too big for a courier — ask first. We would rather talk it through than disappoint you afterwards.
